Geographical Data hierarchy (GDH)

Geographic Data Hierarchy (GDH)

Loqate’s Geographic Hierarchy Data (GDH) helps standardise address data and is ideal for organisations operating across international markets.

How we got here

The Loqate GDH dataset enables businesses to build consistency throughout their own applications and handles all aliases with ease, bringing consistency throughout business systems.

Data sources
ETL tool
PDH processing
Global knowledge repository
GDH Data file

The dataset includes geographical attributes starting from the postal code level and expanding outward and does not contain specific address attributes such as thoroughfare and premise number.

The data is organised in a relational structure, with each country having its own file, enabling users or systems to navigate hierarchically or start at higher levels like California and drill down to specific zip codes.

The fields maintain consistent naming conventions, facilitating the inclusion of country-specific details within a standardised framework. The data is available in various scripts, including Latin, Cyrillic, and Hangu.

The dataset includes local and international aliases
