Capture performance and regional improvements
Find out what's new with Capture's latest product improvements and read more about our performance on Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) weekend.
1. Performance and Reliability Boost
The Loqate Capture platform now boasts significant upgrades, ensuring fast, reliable responses even during peak demand periods. Our platform scaled seamlessly and peaked at over 5,600 requests per second on Black Friday itself. This represents a substantial 14% rise from last year's peak of 4,900 RPS. Over the course of the four-day weekend, the total number of requests on our platform exceeded 1.1 billion, with Black Friday itself accounting for 343 million of these requests. Additionally, this year marked a notable increase in usage from the United States, positioning it as the largest contributor to our global platform traffic, closely followed by the UK and Europe.
Take a look behind-the-scenes at how Loqate handled 1 billion transactions.
2. Enhanced Searching in Italy
Quality Improvement: Our Capture type-ahead search engine now better identifies Italian addresses, even without postal codes. This enhancement means more accurate and efficient address searches for users in Italy.
3. Improved Match Quality in Sweden
Space Character Handling: We've specifically improved how Capture handles space characters in Swedish addresses, enhancing match quality. This means quicker and easier address finding for our Swedish users.
4. Improved Filtering in the US
Capture's updated filtering allows businesses greater flexibility of end-user journey customisation. This update ensures only addresses from allowed ZIP Code areas are displayed in the search results, or that certain ZIP Code areas are excluded from being available in the results.
5. Postcode Filtering in the UK
Case-Insensitive and Space-Agnostic: Postcode filters in the UK are now case-insensitive and space-agnostic, streamlining the matching process and eliminating the need for precise formatting. This speeds up implementation of this functionality and reduces the effort needed to customise the service.
6. Sub Premise Addition in Denmark and Belgium
Quality Improvement: Capture now includes sub-premise level matching in Denmark and Belgium, enhancing address search capabilities for multi-residence structures.
7. Location Biasing Now Live in Germany and More
Enhanced User Experience: With location biasing now active in Germany and soon in other countries (US, Canada, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Spain, South Korea), Capture customers can enjoy quicker address selection with fewer keystrokes.
8. Localised "Addresses" Label
User-Specified Language Label: Capture now outputs address count with a label in the user's specified language, allowing businesses to provide a localised experience for their users.
